ANALYSIS OF THERMAL PROTECTION TRIPPING IN ABNORMAL OPERATION CONDITIONS OF ASYNCHRONOUS MOTORS

Abstract

This paper deals with the analysis of the effect of thermal protection in abnormal operating conditions of induction motors. For this analysis, a mathematical model of an induction motor was used, and then simulations of dangerous operating conditions were made in Simulink. Voltages, velocities and currents in these states were observed in order to determine whether thermal protection will be applied.
