Abstract

The paper explores the potential of the Danube-Tisa-Danube (DTD) canal for the development of a relaxation area in the industrial zone, emphasizing the ecological, economic, and social aspects of this project. The introductory part highlights the importance of connecting humans and nature in the context of sustainable development. Global challenges such as climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss are discussed, and the revitalization of the DTD canal is proposed as a way to bring nature closer to humans in an urban environment. The objectives of the paper are to explore the potential of the DTD canal for developing a relaxation area, which would contribute to local economic development and improve the quality of life for the population. The research methodology includes an analysis of the current state of the canal, identification of key challenges and opportunities, as well as proposals for measures to improve water quality and develop infrastructure.
