Abstract

The paper investigates the process of acquiring the "prosumer" status in the Republic of Serbia, analyzing the legislative frameworks, technical requirements for connecting solar power plants to the distribution system, and the economic viability of these systems. The focus is on two categories of investors: households and legal entities. The paper includes a detailed review of relevant laws, regulations, and rulebooks, as well as the methodology for calculating electricity through net metering and net billing. It also includes a techno-economic analysis that evaluates the profitability of investments in solar power plants in the context of the "prosumer" status.
