The aim is to define the architectural concept for the memorial park at Staro Sajmište, a site marked by a complex heritage of layered narratives shaped by various historical events and socio-political contexts in less than a century. Understanding the most dominant layers and establishing a meaningful relationship with them is essential while ensuring that the newly introduced layer is responsive to all these existing narratives. Thus, the phenomenon of layers of narrative sediment serves as a theoretical foundation to rethink the future of the space.
