Abstract

The subject of the paper is the analysis of transient phenomena that take place in the windings of a synchronous machine during an unbalanced short circuit at the stator terminals. It was performed the analytical generalization of the parameters characterizing the three-pole (symmetric) short circuit at the generator connections (time constants and transient reactances), so that they can be used for the quantification of unbalanced short circuits. On the example of a two-pole short circuit, the calculation of subtransient, transient and steady-state reactances, as well as the corresponding time constants along the longitudinal and transverse axis, was executed.
