This paper presents the approximations that are performed over the transmission network, its physical model, without the essential features being avoided, all in order to increase the efficiency of the execution of mathematical calculations. Specific real-life examples are presented that fully describe the importance of approximating. Also, certain validations have to be introduced in order to create the highest quality mathematical model of the transmission network.
