Printing on metal substrates, specifically aluminium, is a very specific and complex process. Aluminium cans are printed using the dry offset technique on multi-colour machines. Digital inkjet printing on special foils is used to print hard proofs for the design of aluminium cans, which successfully simulates the final result obtained in production. In order for colour reproduction to be accurate, standardization is necessary, which is implemented through the Pantone Live system. The implementation of this system requires multiple phases and resources to achieve a harmonious result. The subject of this paper is research and analysis of the specifics of prepress and hard proofing on metal substrates in Eco-Solvent inkjet printing..
