APPLICATION OF BIOMASS IN DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEMS – PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION IN MAJDANPEK HEATING PLANT

The paper presents a newly designed boiler plant in Majdanpek, which serves as a support to the old heating system. It represents a significant transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources with the aim of preserving the environment. The paper describes its construction, location, operation, and the way it is connected to the distribution network. Additionaly, it includes calculations of fuel consumption, heat energy production, comparisons with previous years, the calculation of the heat capacity of the boilers, as well as data on pollutant emission measurements.
