Abstract

The master's thesis explores the concept of the contemporary mahala as a model of an ideal urban community combining strong social relationships and sustainable spatial solutions. By applying the principles of traditional mahala in a modern context, the thesis highlights the importance of spatial psychology, sense of place, and social connectivity in urban planning. Special emphasis is placed on integrating architectural and social aspects to create functional and socially inclusive communities. Through a theoretical framework, analysis of traditional examples, and a conceptual approach, the contemporary mahala offers a sustainable model for future urban development.
