Automating the process of testing which would otherwise be done manually can save great amounts of time and working hours, especially given that automated tests can be run during night hours. If generating files that summarize test reports is included, for example, an Excel table, the test engineer only needs to check them out in the morning and forward them to developers and team leads. This job becomes even faster and more efficient if there is a a framework that provides universal functions for handling the most tested functionalities, such as sound and image processing, or communication protocols. That framework can be adjusted for various applications and devices, developed by completely different teams and companies. This paper contains a description of adapting the existing framework for automation of the test process on the tested TV box, which includes testing of stability and functionality of existing apps and the device itself.
