Abstract

For the purpose of reducing the groundwater level at the construction site of the Football Academy in Bačka Topola, the solution which includes groundwater control by drainage wells had been analyzed. Levels of groundwater needs to be decreased to at least 1m below the terrain surface in order to drain the upper layers of the soil which will allow the access and the  opportunity for heavy machinery to complete their part of the work. Groundwater flow and the efficiency of drainage wells has been modelled and analyzed by the means of a numerical model based on finite difference method using software package GMS (Groundwater Modeling System).
