Abstract

This paper presents the operation of a wind power plant and its associated protection equipment, as well as a simulation conducted on a modified IEEE 13-bus distribution test network. The IEEE 13-bus network was adapted by incorporating wind power plants. Within this network, the relay protection system of the wind power plant was modeled. A three-phase fault to ground was simulated, and the performance of the relay protection during the fault conditions was analyzed and discussed.
