The paper consists of a research and a practical part. The research part describes the issue and provides measures for preventing the occurrence of cracks caused by the plastic shrinkage of concrete in slab elements. In the practical part, an assessment of the condition of a reinforced concrete structure of a building in New Belgrade was carried out, and a repair solution was proposed for the observed defects and damages. Based on the analysis of the results obtained from a detailed visual inspection, a repair solution was provided, along with a preliminary estimate of all the necessary works to be carried out.
