Abstract

The paper summarizes key insights from the master’s thesis on operational risks in Just‑In‑Time (JIT) logistics systems. It classifies internal, external and systemic risk drivers, analyzes their immediate and downstream impacts on supply chain performance, and proposes mitigation levers: supplier diversification, hybrid JIT–JIC policies, digital technologies (IoT, AI/analytics, digital twins), and standards/business continuity planning (ISO 31000/BCP). A concise comparison between JIT and traditional systems is provided, followed by recommendations towards a resilient JIT paradigm.
