Abstract

The thesis focuses on exploring existing approaches to the application of passive design strategies in architecture, through the analysis of relevant literature, current standards, and case studies that examine energy-efficient design of multi-storey residential and commercial buildings. Based on the conducted research, a conceptual design for a mixed-use residential and commercial building in Novi Sad has been developed, integrating selected passive measures with the aim of reducing energy consumption, improving user comfort, and enhancing the overall sustainability of the building. The aim of the thesis is to demonstrate the opportunities for improving the energy performance of buildings through the implementation of passive strategies already in the early design phase.
