The topic of this thesis is the design of new functions within the dimensions of the Church of St. Rudolf in Banoštor. The subject of the research is grounded in the notion of showcasing the repurposing of sacred architecture as a sustainable model for the preservation of cultural heritage. The thesis outlines concepts and examples of repurposing, along with an exploration of the marketplace, which represents the most significant program within the transformation framework. The design portion of the work illustrates the revitalization of monumental structures by integrating programs such as a marketplace, a wine bar, and an observatory within the church space.
