The Influence of Rendering Intents in Image Color Conversion on Chromaticity and Contrast
Abstract
In this work, the influence of different rendering intents used during image color conversion on its chromaticity and contrast was examined. The conversion was performed from the Display P3 color space to RGB and CMYK spaces of different gamut volumes. The results showed that changes in chromaticity and contrast during transformation to target RGB spaces were minor and independent of the selected gamut mapping method. Conversions to CMYK color spaces revealed notable differences, particularly in contrast when the absolute colorimetric rendering intent was used.
