The influence of television, as a channel of mass communication, on the formation of public opinion is in the focus of this master`s work. The development of technologies and the emergence of new media are changing the principle of the work of media companies, with a particularly significant impact on the performance of public media services. The paper presents problems with television broadcasters and how the Serbian public service media should respond to these challenges in order not to lose the position of a media leader in competition with commercial media.
