Main Contract Analysis and Risk Management for a Tire Factory Project in Serbia

Abstract

This paper explores the contract and risk management of the tire factory project in Serbia under the Design-Build (D+B) general contracting model. As one of the largest foreign investments in Serbia, the project faces a complex international contract environment, tight schedules, and formidable technical challenges. Using case analysis and the risk matrix method, the study deeply analyzes contract risks under the application of the FIDIC Yellow Book, technical risks brought by complex geology and large-scale steel structures, and cross-border logistics and supply chain risks. To address these core risk points, this paper proposes specific countermeasures including phased delivery strategies, the application of P6 schedule management software, localized procurement, and strengthened legal compliance. The findings demonstrate that systematic risk management significantly enhances the resilience and performance capability of large international engineering projects.
