Abstract

The thesis addresses the problem of landfill fires, which represent a significant risk to the environment and human health. The paper analyzes the causes and mechanisms of landfill fire occurrence, as well as their negative impacts on air, soil, and water. Special attention is given to modern methods of prevention and management of such fires. The research includes an overview of innovative technologies for early detection and monitoring, such as temperature and landfill gas monitoring systems, thermal cameras, drones, and digital early warning systems. The application of these technologies enables timely detection of potential fires and reduces their consequences. The importance of this research lies in improving landfill management systems and reducing the risk of fire occurrence.
