Abstract

This paper presents a quantitative assessment of the transparency of ESG reporting in the industrial sector. The analysis is based on publicly available ESG reports and applies a scorecard model with four criteria: usage of standardized ESG frameworks, external verification, quantified sustainability targets, and clearly defined key performance indicators (KPIs) with a base year. The study focuses on environmental indicators such as greenhouse gas emissions, energy and water usage, and waste management. The results show clear differences between international and domestic companies, with firms in the EU regulatory framework ESRS demonstrating higher transparency and methodological consistency. The findings suggest that standardized reporting frameworks and external verification improve the credibility and comparability of ESG disclosures.
