Abstract

This document discusses the equipment located in the substation, with emphasis on protection relays and SCADA system. Communication principle between relays on substation level and communication between relays and SCADA system were described. Communication is based on the IEC 61850 protocol. MMS, GOOSE and Sampled Values principle of communication were described. By practical work, the circuit breaker failure protection was adjusted and GOOSE principle of communication was tested.
