In this paper we analysed the approach phase of vehicles for the needs of traffic accident reconstruction using the Lineikin model. Differential equations of motion of a trailer truck with a semi–trailer are formed using Lagrange equations of the second kind for nonholonomic systems. Simulations of the approach phase of vehicles for a side collision were performed using the Mathematica software.
