Abstract

This master thesis deals with analysis of Yugoslav department stores from their origin until today. The subject of this research includes the consumer society of Yugoslavia, as well as the socio-economic transition after the collapse of the state, and its influence on commerce and retail stores. Through the examples of foreign and domestic practices, potential solutions for the challenges that the department stores face, can be drawn. All the mentioned analyses were done in order to conceptualize a revitalization design of the former department store Bazar.
