This paper explores the research and design of a spiritual center in Čortanovci through the concept of the “architecture of silence,” understanding it as a space intended for contemplation, retreat, and spiritual renewal, in which architecture becomes a medium for introspective experience. The research segment focuses on examining how the notion of silence can be applied in architectural practice through light and shadow, materiality and texture, acoustic relations, spatial sequences, and connection with the natural environment. The work is based on the assumption that architecture is defined not only by its material and physical elements, but also by the space between them. The aim of the project is to identify and define architectural principles that contribute to creating an atmosphere of silence and contemplation, and to apply them within a concrete design context.
